An impressive antique giltwood and cream-painted, Italian Baroque revival style mirror

With a rectangular plate framed by richly carved, pierced acanthus foliage, sweeping scrolls and arabesque details.

The arched pediment features a classical scene of ‘Diana the Huntress’ holding a bow, accompanied by a hound amid foliage. Bold egg-and-dart mouldings outline the crest and mirror plate, while a cream-painted plinth completes the base.

The warm, worn gilding and visibly foxed glass give the mirror a strong antique character. Its grand scale and elaborate carving make it a striking feature for a hall or fireplace overmantel.
