French Brocatelle marble is an exquisite, highly prized variety of antique ornamental stone celebrated for its rich, tapestry-like appearance. The name brocatelle derives from brocade fabric, referencing its heavily patterned, embossed visual texture composed of fragmented limestone pockets, dense veins, and vivid tonal contrasts. Historically popular in French architectural antiques, it was heavily utilised during the Louis XIV, Louis XV, and Napoleon III eras for luxury fireplace mantels and grand salon furniture.
