An antique Statuary Carrara marble mantelpiece made in Italy, in the Neo-Classical style
The extremely well carved frieze has a Roman laurel victory wreath at centre, flanked by a pair of eagles, with festoon swags and four scenes depicting music, art, drama and literature.
The solid and carved pilaster jambs under palmette decorated end-blocks and a deep egg and dart edged mantlepiece.
