A beautiful antique French mantel that was made towards the end of the 18th century from Rouge Royal marble

The serpentine shelf above a frieze with well sculpted and stylized shell at centre. The frieze resting on canted and corbeled jambes.

In great condition and made from a particularly nice piece of marble which has rich colours and interesting markings.
