An antique English Victorian marble fireplace surround made from Frosterley marble
The wide jambs with chamfered edges and bracket corbels support a deep moulded shelf with angled corners.

Frosterley Marble
This attractive and unusual black/brown marble, which contains a variety of white corals and shells, was quarried in Frosterley, Durham, England. Examples of the marble can be found in Durham Cathedral, York minster, Oxford university and the Anglican Cathedral in Mumbai, India.
