An antique free standing hob grate from the Regency period

The uprights with applied brass paterae and resting on brass lion’s paws. A finely cast brass sphinx rests on each of the hobs. 

This large sarcophagus shaped grate is in the manner of George Bullock, it reflects the strong Egyptian influence that was present in architecture during the Regency period.
