An antique Georgian neo-classical, white Italian Statuary and Spanish Brocatelle marble chimneypiece 

With three quarter engaged statuary Doric columns, set on Brocatelle pilasters. The Brocatelle frieze with statuary rosettes, and  a well carved centre tablet depicting a sea nymph riding a hippocampus.

The hippocamp (or hippocampus) is a hybrid creature with the head and upper body of a horse and the scaled, serpentine tail of a fish. They represent a bridge between the strength of the land and the mysteries of the sea. In classical art, sea nymphs and Nereids are frequently shown riding or guiding these creatures through the oceans.
