A Brèche de Vendôme marble bolection fireplace off large scale

The substantial 12″ (300mm) wide bolection moulded frame with hand-carved mason mitred corners, rests on plain square plinths. 

Carved from a block of beautifully figured and extremely rare French Brèche de Vendôme marble.

Brèche de Vendôme

This rare breccia is characterised by an extraordinary blend of harlequin colours including dark red, purple, black, dark green and golden yellow. Quarried in France during the 18th and 19th century’s, and used to decorate many of the finest, most famous buildings and churches in Paris.

Its extremely difficult to find a large block of this marble to produce a fireplace of this size, we were only able to produce one single fireplace from the block we sourced.
