Cast iron – Ci241
A large antique burnished cast-iron fireplace surround in the Georgian Adam revival taste, made by renowned English foundry ‘Coalbrookdale’
The wide jambs with twin pilasters under urn corner blockings, the frieze with classical urn at centre and swags to either sides, this under a decorative cornice shelf which steps forward over the end-blocks.
Stamped with a Coakbrookdale foundry mark and the year 1881
