A large carved Statuary marble fireplace surround from the Edwardian period

A very well proportioned and attractive fireplace which was made approximately 120 years ago using the purest imported Italian Statuary marble. The fine quality carvings and mouldings indicate it was produced in a superior London workshop by a accomplished craftsman.

The jambs feature tapering fluted pilasters under carved floral end-blocks, the middle frieze panel with olive branch’s and centre cartouche. A wide moulding carved with lambs tongue and dart frames the fire opening.
