French black marble – 19501
An antique French pure black marble mantelpiece in the Louis XV Rococo style
The serpentine shaped and moulded shelf above a highly carved frieze with centre floral cartouche, acanthus and foliage. The canted jambs headed by richly carved rocaille cabochon, c-scrolls and scallop shells.
