A magnificent late 18th century carved Statuary and Sienna marble chimneypiece in the manner of Robert Adam
A moulded shelf rests above a fluted inlaid frieze centred by a Adamesque tablet carved in highly detailed relief . The paterea end-blocks are above elaborate Corinthian capitals and well carved neo-classical pilasters. The richly coloured Italian Convent Sienna marble is of the finest type, only used in the very best Georgian fireplaces.
