A large English antique carved white Statuary marble fireplace from the late Victorian/Edwardian period

A very well proportioned and attractive fireplace which was made approximately 120 years ago using the purest imported Italian Statuary marble. The fine quality carvings and mouldings indicate it was produced in a superior London workshop by a accomplished craftsman. 

The jambs feature tapering pilasters carved with summer flowers, the middle frieze panel with olive branch’s and centre cartouche. A wide moulding carved with acanthus leaves and berries frames the fire opening.
