An exceptional antique highly carved pure black marble fireplace dating to the 1860’s

The jambs with scrolled acanthus consoles on the sides, raised and fielded panelled pilasters under carved corbels in the form of terrier dogs. 

The frieze is finely carved with arabesques, this rests above a framed opening featuring a dogs head keystone and laurel leaf decorated corners.

The deep and moulded edge mantel shelf steps forward over the two ends. 

Made from the very best and purest Belgian Mazy black marble.
