An 18th century Statuary and Portoro marble fireplace in the manner of British architect James Gibbs

The barrel shaped frieze is carved with acanthus leaves, berries and crossed ribbons, this is under a substantial break-fronted cornice shelf decorated with dentil and egg and dart mouldings.  

The opening is famed by a carved rope twist marble moulding and panels of richly coloured Nero Portoro marble. 

The jambs have side consoles carved with scrolls and acanthus leaves.
