Antique Jacobean period, carved oak fireplace with Bath stone interior
Profusely carved with lions, bearded noble men, winged putti, acanthus leaves and egg and dart mouldings. The date of manufacture, 1622, is carved into each of the frieze panels. The carved Bath stone interior with a slight arch and acorn leaves in each corner is contemporary to the piece. It Is very unusual for a fireplace this old to come to market in such complete and original condition.
