Cast Iron Fireplace – Ci138
Large antique cast iron fireplace in the Georgian Adam revival style
Made by the renowned Coalbrookdale foundry in 1880 to the highest of standards, this black polished metal fireplace features exceptionally fine castings.
The twin fluted ionic columns support wide corner blocks, decorated with urns. The centre plaque with a torch, bow and arrow, represents the Greek goddess Artemis and is flanked by swags of bellflowers. Above the dentil shelf is a large over mantel, decorated with various Adam ornamentation. There is an oval mirror in the centre, with arched topped mirrors to either side.
